Developmental Disability Waiver Services

We offer Occupational Therapy (OT), Physical Therapy (PT), Speech Therapy (ST), and Recreation Therapy (RT) therapeutic consultation services under the Developmental Disability (DD) Waivers for both children and adults with varying levels of intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Therapeutic consultation services are an indirect service designed to assist the caregiver(parents, guardians, family members, and other support providers) in implementing the individual support plan effectively. Indirect service supports include:

• interviewing the individual, family members, caregivers, and others involved to understand issues and desired outcomes
• observations conducted in natural environments to assess current interventions and support strategies 
• assessments to determine the focus for individualized services and specialized interventions
• demonstration and training/teaching to provide the family, caregivers, and others to implement interventions and/or specialized devices effectively 
• modification and adaptation of the environment, curriculum, materials, or equipment
• written consultation plan to outline interventions, environmental adaptations, and support strategies
• data collection mechanisms and ongoing progress reviews
